Liberia’s Francis Forkey Doe declined offers from Penang FA and a second division Turkish club to come back to Selangor.
The 31-year old forward used to play for the Red Giants back in 2013, where he had a decent season. Doe scored 10 goals in 26 appearances.
After leaving Selangor, he spent a year each at different clubs; Kelantan, NS Matrix, Felda United, and now he’s back with Selangor again. However, this time, he is determined to make his mark and help Selangor win the league.
“First of all, I want to say thank you to the management for letting me come back to Selangor. Obviously I want to help Selangor win a trophy.” he told Harian Metro.
He also believes that he will be able to score more goals this time around with Selangor.
“I believe that I can do better than last the last time I was here, because now I’m happy. I’m happy with Selangor and together we can achieve greater heights.”
Doe is aware of all the problems that the Red Giants are currently facing, like the financial fiasco, management issues, and key players who leaving the team, but he is still positive that they will be a strong contender for the title.
“I have started training with Selangor and I think the coach and the players are fantastic. No player is bigger than the team, so I believe we can go great things if we stay united.” .
Selangor will be taking on Penang in their inaugural Super League match this Saturday, at the Selayang Stadium.
