Renault 3.5 series: Jazeman heads to Spain for season finale

The final round of 2015 Formula Renault 3.5 Series is being held this weekend in Spain, as Formula One hopeful Jazeman Jaafar takes off for the last two races of the season.

Jazeman is currently eight in the championship after fifteen races, with four podium finishes and a first victory in Monaco earlier this year.

The Petronas Talent Development Programme driver is aiming to finish the season on a high, with the Jerez circuit being a track that he has regularly raced before.

“I didn’t have the best weekends in Le Mans a few weeks ago so I’m really looking forward to bounce back at the top of the leader board. I know I have the ability and the car to do the job, so I’ll be putting enough effort on bringing out the best in me in Jerez.”

“It has been a topsy-turvy season. After the Monaco triumph, few low points involving technical issues and small mistakes have hurt me,” he told The Malaysian Insider.

“But now, there is a possible chance for me to grab fourth, or even third place in fact. There is still plenty to play for in the remaining two races and I need everything to fall into its place.”

The final race weekend starts on Friday with two practice sessions, with the race 1 qualifying and 40-minute race in the Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, the qualifying for race 2 will take place, with the last race of the season in the afternoon.
