Shalin Zulkifli confident of making ‘positive’ comeback

It’s always good to have a legend back!

Former Asian No. 1 bowler Shalin Zulkifli has returned to bowling after a 11-year break from her favourite sport, although she still played on and off.

She has been selected amongst three other bowlers, Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman, Timmy Tan and Muhd Nur Aiman Khairuddin for the upcoming Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships.

Prior to this, the 38-year old won a silver medal at the 2014 Asian Games. However, she was forced to take a six-month break after undergoing surgery on her left foot, despite being selected in the Podium Program. The Podium Program is an elite training program by the Malaysia Sports Institute for sports excellence.

“If not for a place in the Podium Programme, I probably would have slowed down.” Shalin confessed. All these strenuous training and competitions are very tiring, but now I have goals to achieve and I’m looking forward to it.”

Shalin is also positive that she’s getting back to her old self, and hoping that she can repeat her past achievements.

Good luck, Shalin, we’re sure you’ll make us proud like you always have!
