Nafiizwan Adnan qualifies for first round of British Open

National squash player Nafiizwan Adnan skipped through his first hurdle after winning two qualifying matches to advance to the first round of the British Open in Hull earlier today.

Mohd. Nafiizwan won his first qualifying match against home favourite Eddie Charlton 11-4, 11-7, 11-7 in just 34 minutes at the University of Hull Sports and Fitness Centre.

The Terengganu-born player then took more than an hour to bring down French player Lucas Serme 16-14, 11-7, 12-10 in the second qualifying match.

The 2014 Asian Games silver medallist will now face Stephen Coppinger of South Africa in the wee hours of Tuesday morning (8pm UK time) in the first round of the British Open.
