Pahang avenged their Charity Shield defeat by effectively knocking Johor DT out of the FA Cup last night after a dramatic affair at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan.
Matias Conti initially broke the deadlock on the 20th minute mark to put Pahang ahead, though Johor DT kept pushing and were ultimately 10 minutes before the end as Hariss Harun fired home to restore parity and drag the game into extra time.
No goals were scored in the additional 30 minutes leaving penalties as the only option to decide the score line of the match. Pahang executed all the spot kicks to perfection, while Lucho Figueroa and Junior Eldstal missed their attempts to hand the victory to Zainal Abidin’s men.
