We are not afraid of Pahang – Johor DT’s Bojan Hodak

Johor DT’s Bojan Hodak believes that his men are not intimidated at the prospect of facing Pahang tonight, despite suffering a defeat to them in the Malaysia Cup final.

Despite having an expensive squad, Johor DT have naturally struggled to contain the vast array of attacking talent present within Pahang, which inspired them to three major trophies last year, but Bojan claims that his side will head into the game with a specific game plan to effectively dismantle the War Elephants.

“We are not afraid of this clash, even if it’s being dubbed a ‘classic’. In fact I even have a proper strategy for the team to face Pahang tonight,” he told Harian Metro.

“Either way, we’ll be gunning for three points and the trophy. Safee, Amri and Nazrin will not feature in this game but Chanturu seems like he’s recovered from injury and has been training well. Only his fitness isn’t optimum yet.

“We also have an excellent record on home soil. We secured seven victories and four draws here last season, meaning that we never lost at home. So I’m optimistic of having that run continue.

With Johor DT set to unleash Luciano Figueroa and Jorge Diaz upfront, Marcos Antonio and Junior Eldstal will most like start at the heart of their defence. And Bojan wants them to be fully focused during the game, as any mistakes will allow Dickson Nwakaeme and Matias Conti to wreck havoc.

“If we get complacent, we’ll definitely be punished. I want players to be focused more than 100% because a win tonight is very important. Not only for the trophy, but we need the three points for the league as well.”
