National Moto2 racer Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman managed to gain a valuable three points at the San Marino Grand Prix, putting him in 23rd position in the overall standings.
Despite starting at the 22nd grid spot, Azlan cruised in control to steal the three points after ending the race at 13th place, with a time of 43 minutes 07.136 seconds.
Azlan, who drives for the Idemitsu Honda Asia Team was 29.037s behind winner, Johann Zarco from France.
Meanwhile, another national racer Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah could only manage a 18th place finish, even after starting at the 6th grid spot.
Although Hafizh had a good start early in the game, he suffered tyre problems which eventually reduced his chances as he ended 43.947s behind the winner.
