Selangor head coach Mehmet Durakovic sees no reason for his side to throw in the towel and give up on their hopes of winning the Malaysia Super League, with seven games left in the season.
The Red Giants are currently fifth on the table, approximately nine points behind league leaders Pahang. While the odds are visibly stacked against them producing a stunning comeback, Durakovic claims that they will continue pushing as long as it’s mathematically possible for them to triumph.
“Pahang and JDT are definitely favourites. But we will head into every game looking for a win, we are not going to stop working hard,” he told Harian Metro.
“We will do our best and see where we end up finishing. No one can predict what happens in football, which is why I’m not giving up just yet.
“The teams ahead of us may drop points, though it’ll be difficult as they are good teams. But we’ll keep pushing,” he added.
Selangor will resume their Super League campaign tomorrow, as they take on PDRM at the Shah Alam Stadium.
