Moto2: Hafizh Syahrin ends German GP without points

Decrease in energy was reported to be the reason for national Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah, who ended the German Grand Prix without any points yesterday.

Hafizh ended up at 16th position, just 0. 154 seconds behind Axel Pons, who slotted in the last position for points.

This is the second time the PETRONAS Raceline rider did not complete the race out of the 9 rounds.

“I would like to apologize for letting down my team again. I’ve not been in a right state of mind, maybe due to my food poisoning,” said Hafizh as quoted by Berita Harian.

“I tried my best to maintain my energy level but it was hard to concentrate. I vow to return in full form after the Hari Raya festival and three weeks of rest.”

Even with a good start in 13th position at the start of the race, Hafizh had to slow down due to his fatigue, resulting in his lost of points.

The race was won by Xavier Simeon of Belgium, who clocked 9. 295 seconds ahead of his rival, French Johann Zarco in second place.
