Sarawak FA skipper Joseph Kalang has rejected an opportunity to move over to Felda United next season, claiming that he is fully committed to remain and help Crocs do better in 2015.
Reports recently suggested that Irfan Bakti was keen on signing the energetic midfielder to boost his squad as they prepare for their return to the Malaysian Super League. And this rumour was further solidified by the fact that Irfan previously worked effectively with Joseph during his time with Terengganu FA.
The 27 year-old admitted that an offer was made for his services, though he effectively rejected it recently; adding on that it was done for personal reasons as well as the fact that he wants to do better with the Crocs next season.
“Yes I did receive an offer from Felda. You can understand why as well since I’ve worked with coach Irfan before and he knows how to bring out the best in me,” Joseph exclusively told FourthOfficial.com
“However, I’ve rejected it as I want to remain with Sarawak next year. This team can achieve big things under coach Robert Alberts, and I intend to be a big part of that. Besides that, I also have personal reasons with regards to family and other things.”
The Crocs had a frustrating season this year, finishing seventh in the Super League table. Moreover, they were also knocked out of the Malaysia Cup during the group stages, finishing with one victory and five points.
