Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) deputy president Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah claims that his side are still unaware on what will done by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin to increase the quality of local football in the country.
“We have not received any info regarding YB Khairy’s plans. We only managed to find out about his intentions through newspapers,” Datuk Afandi Hamzah said as quoted by Harian Metro.
“However, I speak on behalf of FAM when I say that we are ready to support YB Khairy’s plans as well as other parties who are willing to contribute for the good of local football.”
Khairy Jamaluddin’s plans on improving Malaysia’s world ranking came after he flew down to for a meeting with Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) owner Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim.
The meeting meant the proposed debate on live television by Tunku Ismail was called off.
