Elavarasan ‘rested’ by PKNS FC, what’s next?

Elavarasan has been rested by PKNS FC as he became the latest coaching casualty this season.

Elavarasan paid the price for dissatisfactory results that left them battling for relegation in the Super League and the latest defeat to Perak away 2-0 in the Malaysia Cup proved to be the last straw.

“This decision is made to make sure the PKNS squad will be able to compete again and escape relegation, which in turn would remain the the Super League for 2018 season,” said PKNS in an official statement.

Elavarasan joined the Red Ants in 2015 and lead them to Super League promotion as Premier League runners-up in 2016, but life in the Super League proved to be tough with PKNS just a place above the relegation zone due to a better goal difference than Melaka United below.

PKNS also confirmed that assistant head coach, Adam Abdullah, will temporarily take over until a new head coach is found.
