News surfaced yesterday that Kelantan FA have finally received their pending funds from their sponsor, and that they have paid everyone they owed money to. This was confirmed by Datuk Ismail Md Noor, Kelantan FA’s Secretary General.

Datuk Ismail did not reveal any names and figures, but he mentioned that the transactions involved hundreds of thousands of ringgit.

“Stop spreading lies” – Datuk Ismail

“As of yesterday, we have paid up everyone we owed money to. All the pending salary we owed players and officials for the month of January and February has been settled.” he told Berita Harian.

“So, I hope everyone will stop fabricating gossips and stories to make Kelantan FA look bad.” he added.

One of the players who came forward to slam Kelantan FA for their deferred salary payment was Kelantan’s former defender Jonathan McKain, who even threatened to go to FIFA is his salary remains unpaid. McKain also refused to renew his contract after spending two years with the club.

Apart from McKain, Kelantan’s former coach Mohd Azraai Khor also complained about Kelantan’s poor financial management, and claimed that the club owed him at least RM 70,000. According to him, KAFA have yet to settle his salary in June 2016, and also did not contribute to his EPF and monthly tax deductions.

After sponsors failed to deliver, the club’s former president, Tan Sri Annuar Musa, had to fork out RM420,000 out of his own pocket to pay the players and officials.
