MARA has decided to suspend Kelantan FA (KAFA) advisor Tan Sri Annuar Musa as chairman and the head of MARA Investment Bhd (PMB) with immediate effect.
Annuar confirmed that he has accepted the decision, but could not provide any more info as he only received a phone call only informing him of the decision and doesn’t ‘know the details’.
The reason for Annuar’s suspension is unknown at the moment though it rumoured to be related to his alleged misappropriation of MARA funds to sponsor the Kelantan state football team in 2016.
Before the Malaysia Super League kicked off, the Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ismail Tunku Ibrahim made allegations that that a certain ‘Tan Sri’ had used funds from MARA and other entities to sponsor KAFA, who were on the verge of withdrawing from the league due to financial constraints.
In addition to the allegations, Tunku Ismail also provided proof of the transactions between MARA and KAFA by posting the official receipts of said transactions on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page.
MARA committee member, Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob will assume Annuar’s positions for the time being.
