Malaysia has been put into pot 4 for the 2019 Asia Cup Qualifying after the latest FIFA world rankings had just been announced.
Malaysia’s world position remains unchanged at 161st and that resulted in them just barely missing getting into pot 3.
Joining Malaysia in pot 4 are Singapore, Cambodia, Nepal, Bhutan and Macau.
Malaysia had to go through the long way when they defeated Timor Leste in a play-off 6-0 on aggregate after finishing as one of the worst fourth placed teams in World Cup qualifying.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the Asia Cup 2019 held in the UAE
The draw will be held on 23 January in Abu Dhabi.
