Selangor SUKMA athletes handed incentive boost worth RM1.1 million

The Selangor state government has increased the incentive payouts for their victorious athletes in SUKMA from RM958,000 to RM1.1 million, as announced by Chief Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.

He said the state government agreed to increase the incentive payment after Selangor’s success in topping the biennial sporting event in Sarawak, which has concluded yesterday.

“Extra incentives will be given to the gold winners which is RM5,000 for individuals, and teams will receive RM2,000 to RM3,000 per member.

“This success was made possible due to strategic planning, intensive training, the energy of skilful coaches and the good cooperation between sports associations and sports officials,” he said, as quoted by Berita Harian.

The Selangor contingent emerged as overall champions in the 18th edition of the sporting event with 59 gold, 73 silvers and 63 bronzes while host state, Sarawak occupied second with 57 gold, 43 silvers and 59 bronzes.
