Stan Wawrinka has secured his ninth career title after triumphing over Tomas Berdych at the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament final in Rotterdam.
The fourth seed, who made his first appearance in the tournament after 10 years, secured his maiden indoor victory by clinching the tie 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Berdych started off brilliantly, winning the first set 6-4, but the 2014 Australian Open champ did not give in easily, fighting back to secure the second set 6-3. He continued his solid performance in the third set to eventually claim the crown as well.
This victory also marks Wawrinka’s sixth straight victories over Berdych, who is a rank higher than him in the world rankings.
