VIDEO: Kyrgios drops sexual remark to Wawrinka, gets fined

Nick Kyrgios has received a $10,000 fine from the ATP after his sledging Stan Wawrinka during their Rogers Cup duel on Wednesday night.

During the match, Krygios was caught telling Wawrinka that Australian tennis star Thanasi Kokkinakis had slept with Wawrinka’s girlfriend.

The footage went viral all over the internet, sparking heated responses from the tennis world, with most people slamming Kyrgios for his ‘unacceptable behaviour’.

Wawrinka was visibly angry at Kyrgios’ comments and took to Twitter to express his frustrations towards the Australian.

Kyrgios went on to apologize for his actions, claiming that he regretted doing something he did in ‘the heat of the moment’. Tennis Australia also issued a statement on the issue and reiterated that they would be working with Kyrgios to prevent future misconducts.

“Nick has apologized to all involved for his comments on court in Montreal yesterday and deeply regrets his actions. … Tennis Australia is working closely with Nick and his team to provide the best possible support; we understand how important it is to help educate and influence him both on and off the court.”
