Johor DT have been knocked out of the Asian Champions League after suffering a massive 3-0 defeat against Bangkok Glass FC earlier today.
The match started on a messy note with both sides adopting a cautious approach to the game. Bangkok Glass had a chance to open the scoring on the 10th minute mark but Farizal produced a fantastic save to deny them.
Jorge Diaz was then brought down just outside the box, but Safiq Rahim’s free kick was saved comfortably by Narit in between Bangkok’s sticks. But on the 28th minute, Narong eventually broke the deadlock to make it 1-0 in favour of the home side.
Leandro then floated a terrific free kick on the 35th minute, but Fadhli Shas cleared it away with a powerful header. The last few minutes of the first half ended up being frantic with Bangkok pushing to increase their lead before the break. Credits to Farizal and the Johor defence though as they maintained the score line until the break.
Just when Johor DT started showing promise after the restart, Bangkok fired a second goal on the 51st minute, this time through Kaimbi. They were then reduced to 10 men with Praweenwat being sent off, but despite that Bangkok eventually made it 3-0 just after the hour’s make, with Kaimbi netting his second goal of the night.
Just moments later, Fadhli fouled a Bangkok player inside the box and the ref did not hesitate in pointing towards the spot. But Farizal produced yet another stunning save to deny them from making it 4-0.
Bojan’s men tried their best to manifest a comeback but with Bangkok sitting back to protect their lead, the score line was effectively maintained till the end of the game.
