Selangor head coach Mehmet Durakovic is hoping that his defence will be able to nullify the threat posed by their ex-player Paulo Rangel this weekend.
The Brazilian forward is likely to start for Terengganu when they take on the Red Giants on Saturday night and will certainly be a threat for them in front of goal. But Durakovic claims that his men will be doing their best to keep him at bay.
“He did an excellent job at Selangor last year, and we will be doing our best to stop him on Saturday. I’m sure our defenders know what he is capable of in front of goal,” Durakovic told Harian Metro.
“I can only provide my advice as to how to stop him, then it really depends on them during the game.”
The Australian went on to claim that starting the season with a tough clash away from home isn’t the most ideal scenario, but a victory here would be a major morale boost for his squad.
“It’s not easy to start the season away from home. It’ll be a tough match but we are ready and we want a positive result as this will be a boost to our squad morale.
“A win or a draw would be good for us and I’m pretty sure the players would be giving their best during the game.”
