Top three is the ultimate goal – ATM’s K. Reuben

Armed Forces’ defender K. Reuben is in buoyant mood ahead of the MSL season opener this weekend after missing out for almost a year due to a series of niggling injuries.

In his absence, B. Sathianathan’s men struggled throughout their league campaign last year, and barely just survived in the league by finishing on 10th spot. However, they have been on a shopping spree during the off-season and have already recruited several big names in the form of Norshahrul Idlan, Obinna Nwaneri and Jerry Palacios.

“We are ready and as of now, we’re just waiting for the league to kick off. Our goal is to make the FA Cup and Malaysia Cup final but besides that, we’re also gunning to finish in the top three,” he told Harian Metro.

“Our new signings will boost the squad immensely and we have a situation where every single player has to fight for their place in the starting eleven.”

The Malaysian international is also determined to bounce back on a personal level after being out of the game for a considerable amount of time.

“I suffered a severe injury that forced me to miss almost a season. And right now, I’m just eager to get on the pitch. I’ve been working hard to prepare myself on a physical and mental level,” he added.
