Malaysia secures two titles at Asian Junior Squash event

Malaysia has triumphed as champions in both the men’s and women’s category at the 17th CIMB Foundation Asian Junior Team Squash Championships.

In the finals of the men’s category, Malaysia managed to defeat Pakistan with Ng Eain Yow securing the first point as he defeated Tayyab Aslam with a 11-6, 11-13, 4-11, 11-3, 7-11 victory.

The second point was secured by Darren Chan Ti Lunn when he trashed Muhammad Asim Khan with a 8-11, 10-12, 4-11 win in straight sets.

Meanwhile, the women’s squad clinched the title after they secured a 2-0 win over Hong Kong.

The first point was registered by Rachel Mae Arnold when she defeated Choi Uen Shan with a 11-9, 11-5 and 11-9 victory.

The second point though, wasn’t an easy one for Teh Min Jie but she fought hard to secure the win against Ho Ka Wing with a 11-8, 10-12, 4-11, 11-4, 11-9 score line.

The victories this year is certainly an improvement from their third place finish in both categories, at the exact competition that was held in Seoul last year.
