Ministry of Youth and Sports to monitor MNCF funds

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has announced that the Ministry of Youth and Sports will control any large financial funds that are contributed to the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF).

This comes after recent developments illustrated MNCF’s inability to manage development funds worth RM1.5 million every year and how this has been going on since 2007.

“They (MNCF) cannot manage their money again,” he told reporters after launching the Youth Division of the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA).

In a statement, the Sports Commissioner’s Office proclaimed that MNCF are to ensure that the management of financial allocations from government agencies are monitored by the agencies involved.

The SPO will also monitor the development of MNCF to ensure that such issues do not repeat itself.

MNCF was initially suspended for their actions in November but this ban was lifted yesterday after SPO confirmed their satisfaction with the actions that were taken by MNCF to mitigate the harms of their own mismanagement.
