Gary Steven Robbat is certainly looking forward to his upcoming training stint with Borussia Dortmund after Johor DT secured the deal for him to be sent over for the duration of his three months suspension within the country.
The 22 year-old was handed the suspension after a contractual fiasco involving Pahang and the punishment also meant that he would not be able to train with any Malaysian side for the duration of the ban.
Instead of having him train alone within the Johor DT set-up in JB, the Southern Tigers activated their partnership agreement with Dortmund by opting to derive an agreement that will now see Gary Steven spend three months in Germany.
“I was quite shock when I was informed of the Dortmund opportunity. In fact, I treat it as a massive gift, even though I’m saddened by the suspension from FAM,” he told Harian Metro.
“I’d like to thank Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim for being very concerned with my suspension and the overall development of my career. I will definitely make full use of the opportunity and I won’t let the experience over there go to waste.”
