Baseball legend Hank Aaron, who is known as the King of Home Run, is reportedly interested in purchasing the Atlanta Hawks
According to ESPN.com, the Atlanta icon will be a joining a group of hopeful purchasers of Atlanta Hawks; including current owners from the NBA, Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Italian Seria A.
The Atlanta Hawks have been available for bidding after the owner of the team, Bruce Levenson decided to sell his team early this year after writing an insensitive racist email of the fans at hawk games.
“My theory is that the black crowd scared the whites away and there are simply not enough affluent black fans to build a significant season-ticket base.” Levenson told the Daily Mail.
Besides that, he also wrote an email in an attempt to add white cheerleaders during the Hawks’ games.
Whoever that wins the race of purchasing the Hawks will also receive rights to the Philips Arena and will most likely keep the team in Atlanta.
