Manchester City are reportedly edging closer towards a deal that will see them secure the signature of Swansea City’s Wilfriend Bony.
The reigning Premier League champions have apparently agreed personal terms with Bony himself, though they are still negotiating with Swansea on the exact valuation of the transfer, with the Welsh side keen to hold onto their 30 million mark.
“I think the club is very clear on what he is worth and I can see why the club are holding out for the figure they are holding out for,” Swansea City’s Gary Monk said according to Goal.
“If they haven’t quite met that valuation, and that’s what the situation must be, otherwise I am sure the deal would have been done, Huw will wait for it and quite rightly so. I assure you Bony is worth it.”
Pellegrini has been after Bony for quite some time now as he seeks to bolster his squad for the second half of the season, which will also include the Champions League knockout rounds.
The Ivorian forward has already netted 9 goals in 20 appearances throughout the ongoing campaign, but was far more impressive last season, where he fired 25 goals.
Should he sign for Blue side of Manchester, Bony will be joining a fellow Ivorian in the form of Yaya Toure at the Etihad Stadium.
