Pistons will be my last job – Stan Van Gundy

Detroit Pistons president and head coach Stan Van Gundy has announced that his role within the team will perhaps be the last chapter of his career.

Prior to the season, Van Gundy signed a brand new five-year contract with the Pistons, after which he went on to promise his family that relocation will not be a part of their life again.

However, the 55 year-old has made a drastic decision now, claiming that this will perhaps be his last job.

“I promised my wife,” he said. “I wanted one more shot at it. I’ve got a great owner. I’ve got a great situation with great tradition, and I should be able to get it turned around in the time that he’s given me. If I don’t, I don’t. But I should be able to. But this’ll be the last one.

“That’s the last move we’re going to make.”

Before moving to the Pistons, Van Gundy was with Orlando Magic from 2007 till 2012 and Miami Heats in 2005 before being replaced by Pat Riley.
