Johor DT have retained their MSL title despite falling to a 2-1 defeat against Felda United in Selayang earlier today.
The Southern Tigers went into the weekend, two points ahead of title rivals Pahang, and they knew that they needed a win to confirm their title success. But the final day of MSL was filled with plenty of drama.
While JDT were finding it hard to cope with the threat posed by Felda United, Pahang were getting equally battered against Terengganu, leaving the title race wide open. But at the end of 90 minutes, Pahang incurred a 3-1 defeat against the Turtles, allowing JDT to clinch the title for the second successive season.
The Southern Tigers finished first with 46 points from 22 games, losing only four times throughout the season. Pahang were merely two points behind them, winning 13 out of their 22 matches.
Selangor came third 39 points, while a late onslaught from Terengganu saw them occupy fourth spot with 38 points.
