Hamilton, who ended the previous race badly, was seen having a blast in the streets of Barbados, partying, cigar-smoking and an allegedly new kindled romance with pop star Rihanna.

It certainly did not bother boss Toto Wolff, who claims Hamilton will not lose this year’s title focus.

“In these holiday weeks, everyone has the right to be left alone,” he told Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Lewis is very experienced. In the previous nine races, he did not make obvious mistakes. So I think he knows what he can and he should not be doing.”

Even Hamilton confessed to one of his worst races he has ever been, and made a public apology to the team.

“Anyway, he apologised for what was just a bad day. It happens to everyone, but for a sportsman it is different because at the end of the day, it affects the results,” Wolff added.

Hamilton’s teammate, Nico Rosberg, will also be in the centre of attention as he returns to the same circuit where he collided with Hamilton in 2014, for which Rosberg received all the blame.

“It was difficult and intense. But it was also a great lesson. I made mistakes that I will not make the next time,” he told Auto Bild Motorsport.

The Formula One action resumes next weekend in Belgium, from 21-23 August at the Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps.
