Malaysian singer slams Khairy for ‘Liverpool-PAS’ remark

Renowned Malaysian singer Faizal Tahir has slammed Youth and Sports minister Khairy Jamaluddin for drawing comparisons between English Premier League side Liverpool and the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS).

Khairy took a jibe towards Liverpool fans over the weekend, claiming that supporting the Reds is equivalent to supporting PAS, as they both don’t win. But Faizal appears to disagree.

“Seriously KJ? Bad bad bad joke. Stupid. Totally lost respect for this guy. I am a through n through Liverpool fan. I bleed Liverpool red. I support them through thick n thin. I acknowledge Man United is a great team and i respect them for being one of the biggest clubs in the world. They have great players, play great football n have a great history. But this? Utter stupidity. Im sure other Man United fans are not as dumb as this,” Faizal said on Instagram, alongside a screenshot of Khairy’s statement.

“Oh well, if supporting Liverpool is like supporting PAS then i guess its ok and safe to say that supporting Man U is like supporting BN. Simply just replying to KJ’s “joke” about liverpool. So no hard feelings. If he can joke, i can joke too,” he added.

The video of Khairy’s statement went viral all over social media and elicited mixed responses from different people. While some have cracked at his sense of humour, some others, including Faizal Tahir, were not too thrilled by his comments.
