Liverpool made a BIG announcement earlier today!
After a frustrating season, they got their preparations for next season underway, even before the holidays got into its strides, announcing the purchase of James Milner from Manchester City.
The move doesn’t come as a surprise, as Milner has been linked with Liverpool for quite some time now. And while Manuel Pellegrini is a massive fan of him, the squad size of Manchester City limits his first-team opportunities.
Milner is currently 29 years-old, and is keen on playing regularly as he prepares to enter the final stage of his career – precisely why he opted to make the move over to Liverpool, where he will be tasked with replacing the void left by Steven Gerrard in midfield.
Twitter had some interesting reactions to the transfer, some fans celebrating while others being left in despair. Not to forget, the hilarious ones as well!

It's happening already. 'James Milner is world class, a very big player for us' how easily we're pleased nowadays. Such a shame. #LFC
