China Masters: Aik Quan-Pei Jing ease past first hurdle

National mixed doubles shuttlers Tan Aik Quan and Lai Pei Jing managed to pass the first hurdle of the China Masters with ease when they demolished Taiwan’s Tseng Min Hao and Lai Chia Wen.

The Malaysian duo only needed 30 minutes to wrap up a 21-15, 21-10 straight sets win to down the Taiwan team.

This will now allow the Malaysian team to set up a second round clash against Singapore’s Terry Hee Yong Kai and Tan Han Wei.

Meanwhile, national mixed double’s shuttlers Peng Soon Chan and Goh Liu Ying as well have advanced to the second round of the China’s masters when they downed China’s Junhui Li and Zhong Qianxin.

The Malaysian duo defeated their Chinese counterparts with a consecutive 21-13, 21-14 straight sets win.

They will next face another China duo, He Jiting and Du Yue to book their spot in the quarter-finals.
