Pahang FA defender Damion Stewart has urged his teammates to buck up and increase their tempo when the Malaysia Super League resumes after the international break.
The Tok Gajahs have had a topsy-turvy start to the season, with their defeat to ATM being a massive disappointment, as far as the fans are concerned. This is completely different from their impressive form last year, when they secured three trophies throughout the campaign.
Their schedule has certainly been packed this year, due to AFC Cup commitments. But Stewart dismissed that notion, claiming that they can’t use tight schedule as an excuse for their inconsistent performance thus far.
“Well obviously the tight schedule does play a part, but it can’t be used as an excuse for our poor showings. Everyone needs to be constantly aware and focused on the challenge ahead of us,” Stewart told Harian Metro.
“I hope when the league resumes, we would start being consistent and get back to winning ways again,” he added.
Pahang will next take on LionsXII this weekend, before their FA Cup quarter-final tie against Penang FA on the 7th of April.
