Women’s World Hockey League: Malaysia edge Ghana to book semis spot

Malaysia are through to the semis of the World Hockey League after defeating Ghana 2-0 in new Delhi earlier today.

Having defeated Kazakhstan, Russia and Singapore during the Group Stages, Nasihin Nubli Ibrahim’s girls continued their impressive form by putting on an amazing show against the African side.

Norazlin Sumantri broke the deadlock on the 3rd minute mark, allowing Malaysia to dominate the game from the get go. 22 minutes later, 18 year-old Hanis Onn netted the second goal of the game to make it 2-0.

Despite Ghana’s best efforts, Malaysia eventually held on to secure the win and move into the semis, where they will either face Poland or Russia, depending on the outcome of their tie.

More to come..
