Tonbridge Angel’s Ben King has apparently failed to secure a permanent move to Malaysian giants Johor Darul Takzim, despite being on trial with them for almost two-weeks.
But in a dramatic turn of events, the half-Malaysian defender is set to now make a move over to Sarawak FA, who also compete in the Malaysian Super League.
Robert Alberts, who is significantly looking to boost his squad ahead of the new season, has reportedly been impressed with the quality displayed by Ben King, which led to their decision to swoop for the 21 year-old left back.
The explosive left-back was plying his trade with Sutton United’s reserve squad throughout the 2013-2014 season, before he was snapped up by Tonbridge Angels last summer.
But after seeing his close friend Junior Eldstal expand his career in this part of the world, Ben King also expressed his interest in moving over to Malaysia, which doesn’t entirely surprise many, considering that his mother hails from Malacca.
Johor DT then spoke to his representatives, before offering him a two-week trial. Bojan Hodak did recently reveal that he was impressed by Ben King and that he was good enough for Malaysian football.
That being said, it now appears that the Croatian manager ultimately decided against making a move for the defender.
