Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that Thierry Henry has the potential to be a manage, be it with Arsenal or some other club.
The legendary forward announced his retirement from professional football earlier this week, and will be taking on a new role in England. Henry signed a multi-million deal with Sky Sports, that will see him feature alongside Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher as media pundits from 2015 onwards.
However, the 37 year-old has already hinted that he has aspirations of coaching Arsenal some day and that he will be working on his coaching badges soon enough; something that Wenger thinks could eventually happen.
“He will end up at Arsenal one day. Coach? Manager? Director? I don’t know.” said Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
“He always showed an incredible insight in his judgement of players. He has a real ability to unearth talent. Thierry is blessed with a strong personality and he could get angry, but once he had refound his calm, he was always very clear-headed.
According to Wenger, 10 percent of the time, his opinions would be completely different with Henry’s, with regards to their view on things. However, 90 per cent of the time, it was a pleasure to work with the Frenchman.
“We will organise something in his honour and I hope the France team will also give him the recognition that he deserves. We cannot just end it like this. He deserves a proper tribute. It is very important.” said Arsene Wenger.
