Manchester United keen on Vidic reunion

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is interested in re-signing Serbian veteran Nemanja Vidic  due to the team’s well documented defensive crisis.

Reports suggests that Van Gaal held talks with Inter and the Serbian’s representative, where it was established that he would be open to a United reunion, though there is no confirmation on the agreement.

Vidic is currently reconsidering his future at Inter Milan, after struggling to reproduce the form that made him a legend at Old Trafford. Ever since Mancini returned to the San Siro, he’s been utilizing Andrea Rannocchia and Juan Jesus as the first choice pair at the heart of their defence, leaving Vidic on the sidelines.

As for Man United, their defensive department is not only short on quality and experience, but is also facing a massive injury crisis that led to Van Gaal using their youth defender Paddy McNair as first choice center back in recent games.

Besides Vidic, rumours are also hinting that United will be making January swoops for several other defenders, with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin reportedly on the list.
