Tonbridge Angels’ Ben King on trial with Johor DT

Johor DT could be on the verge of securing a brand new acquisition as they are currently monitoring Ben King, an England-based player who is on trial from Tonbridge Angels FC.

The 21 year-old, who is half Malaysian, is currently on a two-week stint with the Southern Tigers, and he stands a chance of being offered a full time contract, should he impress Bojan Hodak and the other coaching staff.

The explosive left-back was plying his trade with Sutton United’s reserve squad throughout the 2013-2014 season, before eventually being signed by Tonbridge Angels last summer.

But Ben himself expressed interest of moving to Malaysia to further expand his career, which comes as no surprise, considering that his mother hails from Malacca.

The Southern Tigers established contact with him, offering a two week trial, which is already underway. Should he impress the coaching staff, he will be Johor DT’s third half-Malaysian signing of the off-season, having already brought in Junior Eldstal and Sean Gan Gianelli
