The Hi-Tech Bangkok City team celebrated their 2014 AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) title with a celebratory run at Bangkok’s Thai-Japanese Stadium yesterday.
Their ‘celebratory run’ was the largest team celebration for their fans, in the league’s 5 year history, with over 200 fans participating in the historic celebration as they ran 5 laps of honor around the stadium.
A special trophy presentation was held after the celebratory run for the Hi-Tech team, which saw each player and staff receiving a championship trophy by the ABL.
Hi-Tech completed their two-game series win over the Westports Malaysia Dragons with a 73-67 win last month in Bangkok.
The team is now the first ABL team to win two championships, their first during the 2010-2011 ABL season after sweeping the AirAsia Philippine Patriots in the best-of-three series.
