Djokovic, Wawrinka Lead Group A at ATP World Tour Finals

Novak Djokovic demolished US Open champion Marin Cilic on a day of one-sided matches at the ATP World Tour Finals.

The world number one began his campaign for a third straight title at the O2 Arena in London, with a 6-1, 6-1 win in slightly under an hour.

The win extends Djokovic’s unbeaten run indoors to 28 matches.

He’s been unbeaten at the O2 Arena since 2011, winning his last 27 matches indoors and going into Monday’s encounter with a 10-0 record against Cilic, who was making his ATP Finals debut.

Meanwhile, Australian Open champion Stan Wawrinka crushed Tomas Berdych in his opening match.

Wawrinka won 6-1, 6-1 in just 58 minutes – the most one-sided contest since the season finale moved to London in 2009. It is the fifth year in a row that Berdych has lost his opening match at the O2 Arena.
