Marc Marquez clinches record-breaking win

Recently crowned MotoGP champion, Marc Marquez nabbed a record-breaking 13th win of the season in Valencia.

The Spaniard’s victory in the final race of the championship overturned the previous record, set by Australian Mick Doohan’s record of 12 race wins in a season, back in 1997.

Marquez, who was leading from the 11th lap, finished in 46 minutes and 39.627 seconds, ahead of Valentino Rossi and team-mate, Dani Pedrosa.

Rossi claimed the second spot in the championship, ahead of Jorge Lorenzo, making it his best finish since he won the last of his seven premier class world titles in 2009.
