Chong Wei’s B sample to be publicly released next week

Malaysia’s Youth and Sports Minister says Lee Chong Wei’s sample test will only be publicly released by the end of next week.

Khairy Jamaluddin explains, that although the official results will be released tomorrow, it will have to first be shared with the Badminton World Federation, and this process could take several days.

He also noted that the possibility of the B sample test proving negative would be slim, as 99% of the time, the result would match the first doping test, which in this case was done on October 2nd.

Although the identity of the athlete in question was never confirmed as Lee Chong Wei, the iconic shuttler has been publicly linked to this scandal, on news that he had failed a doping test conducted during the World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, last month.
