World Hockey League : Malaysia thrash Mexico 10-1

Malaysia have secured yet another massive victory in the quarter finals of the World Hockey League after they blasted 10 goals past Mexico to complete a magnificent 10-1 victory.

This comes after Tan Beng Hai’s men scored their biggest victory in over 22 years against Singapore on Tuesday, winning 16-1 to book their spot in the quarters.

Beng Hai himself insisted afterwards, that it was important for his men to not be overjoyed by the result and keep their head focused on the quarter finals; something that they certainly did against Mexico.

Tengku Ahmad scored the opening goal as early as on the 4th minute mark, before Faizal Shaari made it 2-0 on the 10th minute.

Malaysia continued increasing the pressure and eventually raced into a 4-0 lead, before Mexico pulled one back on the 19th minute, making it 4-1.

However, Beng Hai’s men were in no mood to reduce their tempo, and fired another six goals throughout the game, to ultimately seize the massive win with Tengku Ahmad netting a total of four goals in the game.

The Malaysian squad will either face Japan or Ukraine in the semis, depending the outcome of their quarter finals tie tonight.
