Johor DT are rumoured to have seized the acquisition of industrious Malaysian midfielder Gary Steven Robbat, in a move will certainly raise plenty of eyebrows throughout the local football fraternity.
Gary Steven, who signed for Pahang last month, seems to have made a U-turn on that decision, with speculations suggesting that Johor DT swooped in following his terrific performances during the AFF Suzuki Cup group stages.
The former Harimau Muda midfielder is widely recognized as one of the best talents within the country, with Sabah legend Scott Ollerenshaw even claiming that Gary could potentially be Malaysia’s best midfielder by 2016.
If this rumour turns out to be true, it will be Johor DT’s second surprise capture of the season. Earlier last month, they announced the signing of Junior Eldstal from Sarawak FA, which was largely surprising considering that Junior was initially on the verge of joining Selangor FA.
Later on in the month, Pahang confirmed the arrival of D. Saarvindran and Gary Steven from Harimau Muda, though this particular rumour has definitely set fire to the entire transfer and player acquisition system within the local football scene.
