Khairy Jamaluddin confirms doping scandal

Malaysian Sports and Youth minister, Khairy Jamaluddin has officially confirmed that a Malaysian athlete has indeed failed a doping test, via a press statement that was released on his Facebook page.

Though no specific names were mentioned, Khairy did confirm all the reports that were circulating around, including the exclusive story that was carried on FourthOfficial.com yesterday.

“I can confirm that one of our athletes failed a doping test that was conducted during an international championship,” Khairy said via his Facebook Page.

“The Malaysian Anti-Doping Agency was informed of the situation by the organizers of the particular competition, and we proceeded to inform the athlete and his parent organization as well.

“Based on the guidelines established by the World Anti-Doping Agency, any individual who failed a doping test would allowed to appeal the decision. This particular decided to do so and is currently awaiting response for the test result of the B-sample.

Khairy also went on to claim that a review of all medication that was given to the athlete, is being conducted to thoroughly investigate the possible reasons behind this situation.
