Fernando Alonso to miss Australian GP

2-time Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso will not be contesting in the Australian GP after being advised against doing so by his doctors.

Alonso suffered severe concussion after being involved in a crash that took place during the pre-season test in Barcelona recently. Despite having fully recovered and being cleared of any medical issues, doctors have advised him to limit himself from any environmental risk factors that could potentially cause him to aggravate the injury.

Thus, Alonso will be replaced by McLaren’s reserve driver Kevin Magnussen, who is to partner Jenson Button for the Australian GP, which will take place o the 15th of March.

That being said, the Spaniard will most likely return to the driver’s seat for the 2015 Malaysian GP on the 27th of March.
