Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) have signed a six-year sponsorship deal worth RM60 million with Taiwan-based brand Victor
This news comes after BAM recently announced their decision to end the sponsorship deal between them and Yonex, which had lasted for 15 years, to make way for a new sponsor.
Besides the brand new six-year deal, the Taiwanese brand will also provide exclusive bonuses to BAM players who do well in international tournaments.
According to Harian Metro, BAM’s Honorary Secretary Ng Chin Chai said that representatives from Victor will be coming down to Malaysia next week to conduct research and proper analysis on the type of shoes and racquets that would be required for the shuttlers.
However, this sponsorship deal will not affect Datuk Lee Chong Wei, who is set to continue his individual sponsorship deal with Yonex.
BAM is also sponsored by Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank), who currently have an RM49 million deal with them.
