Malaysian squash queen Datuk Nicol David has advanced to the third round of the 2015 Windy City Open after demolishing USA’s Olivia Blatchford in three consecutive sets.
The world number one only needed 30 minutes to wrap up the second round with a 11-3, 11-6, 12-10 victory.
The 22 year-old Blatchford, who was easily trashed in the opening and second set, fought-back against Nicol in the third set though the Malaysian eventually held her nerve to win 12-10.
Nicol David will next face Egypitan El Torky in the third round, where both of them will contest for a spot in the semis.
Meanwhile, national number 3 Delia Arnold managed to make it to the main draw after downing world number 45 Deon Saffrey 8-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-7, 11-8 in the qualifers.
Delia will next face England’s Laura Massaro in the opening round of the main draw.
