Malaysian shuttler king Datuk Lee Chong Wei believes that Liew Daren has to overcome his poor mental strength in order to perform better.
Liew Darren’s most impressive achievement thus far is winning the French Open back in 2012 and at that point, many believes that he would eventually grow into a world class player.
However, that hasn’t exactly been the case and while Chong Wei thinks it’s impossible for Darren to entirely alter his style of play, he needs to tune it to be able to be more fierce and aggresive on the court.
But Chong Wei also claimed that it would be equally crucial for Liew Darren to improve his mental strength in order to be able to cope with defeats.
“He has to be smart in overcoming the pressure that is thrown at him and most importantly have a strong mental strength.” Chong Wei told Sinar Harian.
At the same time, Chong Wei also hopes that Liew Daren, who recently suffered a heavy defeat to Arif Latif in the Kopiko Purple League, would buck up his performance soon.
