National shuttler Chong Wei Feng is nervously awaiting for news on the severity of his injuries; which were picked up during his last two tournaments.
The Malaysian number two initially suffered with a hamstring problem during the Malaysian Grand Prix Gold.
Despite that, the 28 year-old went on to participate at the India Open but he was handed an early exit from the tournament due to a left thigh injury that he picked up while facing India’s first choice K.Srikanth; forcing him to pull out after the first set.
Wei Feng will be undergoing a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test at the National Sports Institute (ISN) to identify and evaluate the list of injuries that he has, before determining its severity.
If the result turns out badly, Wei Feng could be out of action for three weeks; which could put his participation at the 2016 Rio Olympics at stake as the qualification round starts on the 4th of March.
